Lifting equipment inspection and certification

Tibex is well-positioned to perform statutory lifting and hoisting equipment inspection and certification in line with LOLER and statutory requirements. Our seasoned Inspection engineers have vast experience with regulatory requirements, standards & codes of practice, and industry best practices.  We approach every inspection and certification with a safety mindset by ensuring before every inspection, the work scope is fully understood, and work methodology and risk assessment are in place before task execution. In addition to the six-monthly lifting equipment inspections for all accessories and 12 monthly for appliances, we carry out bespoke inspections to ensure equipment meets the client’s requirements.  We develop a lifting equipment register for every call-out and submit a copy of the inspection report to the relevant agency as per statutory requirement – in the case of Nigeria to the federal Ministry of Labor and Productivity through the Director of the factory within 28 days after completion of the inspection.

Non-destructive Testing (NDT)

Non-destructive testing or NDT is the process of evaluating materials, components, or assemblies for any discontinuities, or defects without destroying the serviceability of the part or system. Tibex can provide different methods of testing to determine the integrity of the structures and other equipment including;

Tibex team of Inspection Engineers is well-experienced and possesses recognized certifications such as ASNT Level II to perform any NDT method as such Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), and Ultra-sonic Testing (UT). However, as a minimum, our Inspection Engineers must have a certification in MPI & LPI to be qualified to inspect and certify lifting equipment. Tibex’s internal policy is to promote a multi-skilling workforce for optimal service delivery and cost reduction to our clients.

Lifting operations 

Regulation 8(2) of LOLER defines a lifting operation as ‘an operation concerned with the lifting or lowering of a load’. A ‘load’ is the item, or items being lifted, which includes a person or people.
At Tibex, we take the burden of lift planning, risk assessment, equipment selection (where required design appropriate and fit-for-purpose lifting appurtenances) and performing actual lifts off our clients.

Our team of Engineers is ready to carry out lifting studies, develop lift plans, and execute tasks safely. It does not matter whether the lifting operations are onshore, projects, swamp, crane on barge, shallow water, deepwater, or subsea, we have you covered. We carry out Vessel and mobile crane suitability studies based on type for various applications. In addition, we are experienced in designing alternative means of rigging outside the traditional use of mobile cranes for lifting.
